The Eucharistic Revival - An Act of Faith

           Dearly beloved in Christ,

As we continue in the “Year of Prayer” declared by the Holy Father in January 2024 in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee of Hope, there is a renewed call on all of us to rediscover the importance of prayer in our lives as Christians.

The ongoing three year Eucharistic Revival, 2022 to 2025, provided an enriching summer for me this year as I was privileged to attend and participate National Eucharistic Congress held in Indianapolis. It was an event and encounter filled with God’s grace. It came with a greater assurance that the Catholic Church is very much alive and active here in the United States. The faith, energy and enthusiasm of the people of God was remarkable.

As Catholics, we continue to affirm the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The Eucharist being the source and summit of the Christian life, continues to speak to us about the love of God for us expressed in Christ’s self-giving of himself for us.

At the National Eucharistic Congress, Jesus blessed the United States with his Real Presence in the shape of a cross forming a giant Benediction over our whole nation. Lives were changed, hearts were ignited, and this powerful witness of Eucharistic faith continues to bear fruit in communities across the country

The Eucharistic Revival movement has become an act of faith:

Faith that Jesus desires to reveal himself more deeply in the Eucharist.

Faith that he has the power to heal, restore, and unify his people.

Faith that when the Lord extends an invitation, he will fulfill his promise.

Faith that when we prepare tinder, he will set it ablaze with his love.

Faith that when we gather in his name, he will show up.

God showed up in power: lavishing his love upon his people, pouring out his holy fire, filling us with hope, and igniting a zeal for his Kingdom that has already propelled our Church into a new season of apostolic mission.

These days more than ever, as a Church in mission, we are being commissioned in a special way to go out to spread the Good News, bringing Jesus to the margins and inviting the lost sheep back home to the Father’s house. No matter what role you play in the Church today, you are specially invited to participate in this wonderful movement of the Holy Spirit in our Church.

So, whether you are still praying about who the Lord wants you to accompany in this third year of mission or you have already identified how God is inviting you to act as a Eucharistic missionary, it is important you know this is a journey that is led by Jesus. So be open to the Lord and be ready to “walk with one”

           God bless you,

           EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR

Dear Our Lady of Lourdes/ All Hallows Parish Community,

Alleluia, Christ is risen, let the whole world be filled with His glory! As St Augustine would say, we are Easter people and Alleluia is our song. Let our Alleluia resound like never before. The message of Easter is one of hope restored and joy rekindled in the midst of a challenging world. Let the hope and joy be heard by all because death has been defected. Christ victory over death is the light we proclaim.

As Easter people, we are proclaiming Christ’s ultimate victory of light over darkness, grace over sin, and life over death. This is the message we build our lives and to which we anchor our own hope of victory with him. During this Easter season we joyfully give thanks to God for the many blessings bestowed on us as individuals and as a parish community.

Because Jesus has died and risen again, conquering sin and death, we believe that with him we too shall live and conquer the challenges of live. Like we sing “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone; because I know He holds my future, and live is worth the living just because He lives”. Yes because He lives the story has changed.

On behalf of Fr. Chinonso, Fr. Bart, Sr. Eva, the Parish Staff, Parish Council & Finance Council, I wish to thank you all for participating in our Holy week and Easter Triduum celebrations. Your presence meant a lot to us.

Special thanks to all those who donated flowers and decorated the Altars of our two Church locations, the Altar Society, Lourdes Choir, Men Choir, the Samoan choir, Spanish Choir, Lectors, Servers, Livestream team, Greeters, Ushers, Catechist who instructed our candidates, and the various individuals that assisted in planning, coordinating, and arranging the Church and our liturgies.

May God bless and reward you for you service and stewardship. In this spirit of our faith renewed, hope restored, and joy rekindled I wish you and your families a most holy and blessed Easter Season! Happy Easter

           HAPPY EASTER!

Dear Our Lady of Lourdes/All Hallows Family,

           Happy Easter!

“Christ indeed from death is risen, our new life obtaining. Have mercy, victor king, ever reigning! Amen. Alleluia” (Easter Sequence).

One of the last statements of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary was: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”. Forgiveness of every person who harms us is one of the great saving lessons of Good Friday.

This Easter we turn once again towards the light of Christ, the Prince of Peace, in a world marked by darkness and conflict, hatred and division, war and killing. In this broken world and society, the way of the Cross is a calling to each of us. The foot of the Cross becomes a place to gather as one body and one people, facing different sufferings but united in our need for God’s healing and transformation.

The first words of the Risen Lord Jesus at the Resurrection Victory of Easter are: “Peace be with you.” Easter peace is the first gift to us from our healing God. This Easter let us receive these gifts of forgiveness and healing peace like never before! Let this healing peace bring about unity and love like never before. Let us begin in our hearts, so easily torn apart by bitterness and selfishness.

Let forgiveness and healing peace flow into our lives and Church family. May these gifts give us the courage to develop real family to those in our streets and communities. Let the homeless and lonely this Easter receive not more pious sentiments but real practical charity and care.

Let the forgiveness and healing peace of the Risen Lord Jesus reign in our Shipwreck family this Easter! May we be filled with joy, peace, hope and unity to reflect the risen Lord to all.

Happy Easter to all and many blessings!

           HAPPY HOLY WEEK CHURCH FAMILY

Dear Our Lady of Lourdes/All Hallows family,

As we begin this great week that changed the course of history with Palm Sunday, we remember both Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as well as His Sacred Passion.

As we listen to these accounts today, we know that these are historical events that happened in physical locations, which are revered today. Jesus walked this earth, just like us. Jesus Christ truly lived, truly suffered, and truly died in the city of Jerusalem. He entered His Passion so that we could be forgiven of our sins and in order to teach us the lessons of His love. His arms are extended for the love of us. His Heart is open for us.

Let us reflect on our relationship with Jesus, our love for him in appreciation for all He went through for us. Let us extend that love to one another in walking for peace and unity of our Lady of Lourdes/All Hallows family, in our firm commitment to stewardship.

We can follow Jesus’ perfect example by patiently enduring our own suffering, uniting it with His, offering it for love of Him who died for us. Greatly to be loved is He who loved us so greatly.

May this Holy Week bring us closer to our Beloved Our Lady of Lourdes/All Hallows family, loved ones and the needy in our society as we walk with Him on the Way of the Cross.

Mensaje de Navidad para Our Lady of Lourdes/All Hallows

Querida Familia de la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Lourdes-All Hallows, como dice la: ""we've come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord, trusting in His Holy Word. He never fails me." "Hemos llegado hasta aquí por fe, apoyándonos en el Señor, confiando en Su Santa Palabra. Él nunca me falla".

No somos perfectos. Pero con Dios, hay misericordia y perdón, y segundas oportunidades. Y también debemos ofrecer esos regalos a los demás. La Navidad es una época de renovación, nuevos comienzos y unión.

           ¡¡¡Feliz Navidad!!!

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FOR OUR LADY OF LOURDES-ALL HALLOWS CHURCH FAMILY

Dear Our Lady of Lourdes-All Hallows Church Family, like the song, have it, "we've come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord, trusting in His Holy Word. He never fails me." The world as we know it has gone through some challenging times, and we all have been impacted in one way or the other.

By the grace of God, we have come through an extraordinary year fraught with challenges and trials that none of us could have expected. We have found ourselves confused, scared, and anxious. We realized the frailty of our earthly life and the many fleeting things of this world we so often cling to. More than anything, we have found ourselves in need of a Savior.

In these challenging moments, we are strengthened by God’s promise, spoken in Deuteronomy, “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be in dread of them: for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you (Dt 31:6).”

As members of Our Lady of Lourdes-All Hallows Church family, we should remain steadfast in hope. May our hope not waver because the birth of our Savior at Christmas reminds us that we are strengthened continually by the presence of Emmanuel – God with us. He is the Lord who saves us from our sins and weaknesses and reconciles us with the Father.

Christmas is all about Love. It is about the love of God in sending His only begotten Son to restore us to God’s friendship and reconcile us with God. God's Love. The love of God is so much that God gave us the most precious gift imaginable, Jesus. This is the heart of Christmas. This wonderful love calls us to love one another.

As a Church family, we share the love of Christmas in and through our human relationships. At Christmas, we remember that Jesus was born in poverty, in a stable among the poorest people and the farm animals. What does this mean for us today? We are called to look for the face of Christ in the poor, those at our doorsteps, and in distant places. Love can look like a cup of coffee offered, a handheld, a smile shared, and a story heard. I firmly believe that, in the end, we will be judged by how we care for the poor or, as St. John of the Cross would put it, "In the evening of life, we will be judged on love alone."

Christmas is also about repentance and forgiveness. Love takes commitment and work, and sometimes we don't get it right. We're not perfect. But with God, there is mercy and forgiveness, and second chances. And so must we offer those gifts to others. Christmas is a time of renewal, fresh starts, and coming together.

           Merry Christmas!!!

           Welcome to our family Community!

Dear Church family of Our Lady of Lourdes & All Hallows Community,

It is with great joy that I and Fr. Roy Remo have been asked to serve you in our roles as Parish Administrator and Parochial Vicar respectively since Father Dan’s retirement. The beauty of our two Church location and the warmth of our parishioners are signs to us of God’s goodness.

Over the next few months, we look forward to working with our parish leadership in planning for our future. We have many opportunities before us to work together to build the kingdom of God here in Our Lady of Lourdes and All Hallows Community.

We have some exciting news to share with you. Thanks to a very generous donor, we have received $50,000 towards the repairs in our Parish Hall and other Church facility while Fr. Dan was still Pastor.

We continue to thank you for your contributions and donations to the Parish and our Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. As we experience these new changes, together, know that Fr. Roy and I are happy to serve and share all with you as one Church family. And like a true family, we may face trials and difficulties but in Christ we will triumph.

As a community of faith, God has not called us to a life of achievement, but to a life of faithfulness. As we journey to the kingdom of God, let us strive daily to love tenderly, act justly, and walk humbly with our God.

Let us work together in unity and love to build a better Lourdes-All Hallows community.

           Thanks, and many blessings!
